We have all seen those beautifully polished and restored pieces of antique furniture in glitzy showrooms and the finest Antique Fairs. On the flip side we have also seen plenty of neglected and battered old pieces as well which are crying out for some TLC and are often too cheap to turn away. If like us you enjoy watching the Repair Shop on TV you will already have a sense of the pride, love and skill which goes into each piece which is brought back to life.
While some good restoration skills take years of dedication to perfect and an uncanny sense of alchemy to perform well, there are plenty of others which give surprisingly simple results for very little work.
